Christian Education Report
Julie Penner
There are several areas that fall under the Christian Education umbrella, Sunday School, Nursery and recruitment for the Baseball Camp.
The Sunday morning program has seen significant change in the last several months. We now have a Junior Church Program run by Marissa Moncor which takes place during the Worship Service, approximately 11:00 m-11:45am. After the Worship Service, The Adventure Club takes place from 12:15pm-1:00pm. This program is run by Chris Lortie and members of our Youth. Both of these programs are open to ages 5 – 12. The age of this group is quite flexible.
The Sunday School children presented the pageant “Live From Bethlehem” on January 9, 2008. Under the direction or Karen Fraser and Bethany Thornton, all the children and youth exercised their many talents bringing the message of Jesus’ birth to the congregation.
Allison Yuill has been organizing volunteers for the nursery during the Sunday morning service. The supervision in the nursery begins when the children leave for Sunday School. This position is presently vacant.
The Baseball Camp was a success due in part to the high quality of volunteers. There were a total of 20 volunteers filling the jobs of coaches, assistant coaches and food servers. Thank you to all who volunteered!
The Christian Education Chair also is a member of the Youth Advisory Committee.
